Three one-bedroom cabins in Broken Bow, compared

If you're after a 1-bedroom vacation home in Broken Bow, we have three, and they are not interchangeable. Sweet Thang sleeps two and is built for exactly two. Heaven's Edge Cabin sits beside a catch-and-release pond and sleeps up to four. Lost In The Past Cabin is the Hochatown one, with the hot tub indoors. All three take dogs. Pick by how many bodies you're bringing and whether you want to be near the restaurants or away from them.
The quick version
- Sweet Thang — 1 bedroom, 1 bath, sleeps 2. Broken Bow. Hot tub, outdoor grill, balcony and patio, farmhouse interiors, wine glasses in the cupboard. Pets welcome.
- Heaven's Edge Cabin — 1 bedroom, 1 bath, sleeps 4. Broken Bow, beside a catch-and-release pond in the pines. Hot tub, fire pit, grill, kayaks, full kitchen with the cooking basics. Pets welcome.
- Lost In The Past Cabin — 1 bedroom, 1 bath, sleeps 4. Hochatown. Indoor hot tub, fireplace, furnished deck and balcony, charcoal grill, board games, bicycle, kayaks. Pets welcome.
Every one of them has heating, air conditioning and WiFi, so none of that should decide anything.
A cabin for two and nothing more
Sweet Thang sleeps two, and that's the whole argument for it. It's a brand-new build with farmhouse decor, a hot tub, an outdoor grill, a balcony and a patio, and wine glasses already in the cupboard, which tells you what people do here on a Friday night. Couples book it for anniversaries and birthdays. Solo guests book it to disappear for a few days.
There's also a dining table, which sounds trivial until you've tried to eat a proper dinner off your lap in a cabin that doesn't have one. If you're planning to haul a cooler up from Dallas and cook rather than queue at Hochatown restaurants on a Saturday, that table earns its floor space.
The constraint is real: two guests, listed occupancy. If there's any chance a friend joins for the weekend or a kid comes along, look at the other two.
One bedroom, four people, a pond out front
Heaven's Edge Cabin is the one small families keep coming back to, and the pond is why. It's catch-and-release, surrounded by pines, and it sits right there, which means a morning doesn't have to involve a car. For anyone whose trip is organised around fishing, that changes the shape of the day: you can cast before coffee, go do something else, and cast again when the light goes gold.
The kitchen is stocked past the usual, with cooking basics, baking sheet, dishwasher and the rest, so a four-person stay doesn't collapse into takeout. There's a fire pit and a hot tub outside, and kayaks on the property. Broken Bow Lake runs over twenty miles long with something like a hundred and eighty miles of shoreline, and Beavers Bend State Park is up Highway 259 north of town, roughly ten miles, call it fifteen minutes. If you're taking the kayaks anywhere beyond the cabin, ask us where to put in before you load them.
One bedroom sleeping four means someone is on a sofa or a loft bed rather than behind a door. For two adults and two kids, fine. For two couples sharing, think about it honestly before you book.
Hochatown, with the hot tub inside
Lost In The Past Cabin puts you in Hochatown, which matters if the trip is built around eating and drinking rather than hiding. Mountain Fork Brewery pours craft beer alongside pizza and burgers, Beavers Bend Brewery has rotating house beers and a patio on several levels, and Grateful Head Pizza Oven and Taproom does thick brick-oven pies. Abendigo's Grill & Patio runs live music. Fish Tales Bistro & Winery sits across from the state park entrance. None of that requires a long drive from here, which is the point of staying on this stretch of 259 rather than south in town.
The hot tub is indoors. That reads as a minor detail in June and a significant one in January, when the wind comes through the pines and the walk from the back door is the part that puts you off. Pair it with the fireplace and this is the cabin that works best in cold weather. There's a furnished deck, a balcony, a charcoal grill, board games for the evening it rains, and a bicycle.
Like Heaven's Edge, it's listed for four in one bedroom. Couples and small families suit it; four adults who all want their own space do not.
Choosing between them
Start with the number. Two people, and Sweet Thang is written for you. Three or four, and you're choosing between Heaven's Edge and Lost In The Past, at which point the question becomes where you want to wake up.
Heaven's Edge is quieter, pondside, better for fishing and for mornings that start slowly. Lost In The Past puts the Hochatown breweries, the pizza and the state park entrance within an easy run of the driveway, and gives you somewhere warm to soak when the temperature drops. Season tips it too: the indoor tub and fireplace make a November or December weekend considerably more pleasant, while the pond and the fire pit are what you want in spring and early autumn.
Dogs come to all three. Confirm the current pet terms on the listing when you book, because those are the details that change.
What the one-bedroom cabins won't cover
If your party grows past four, the one-bedroom answer stops working and you should jump to a different shape of house entirely. DBL DWN Cabin sits in the heart of Hochatown with two bedrooms and room for six. Driftwood Cabin adds a loft and takes eight. Beyond that, EZ Ridge Retreat has a king bedroom, two bunk rooms and a sofa bed, which is the layout that makes multi-generational trips work.
Stay with one bedroom and you're getting a smaller, cheaper, more private cabin. That's the trade, and for a couple with a dog it's usually the right one.
Booking, and the bits worth asking about
Book direct with us rather than through a platform. We're the ones who know which cabin is quiet in October and which one has the indoor tub, and we run a concierge service: message us before you arrive and we'll point you at the right trailhead, the right table, the right morning on the water.
Worth asking about when you do: current availability for your dates, the pet terms for your cabin, and whether the fall calendar touches your weekend. Fall in Love with Downtown Broken Bow lands in October, the Beavers Bend Folk Festival and Craft Show happens at the Forest Heritage Center in November, and the self-drive Christmas in Hochatown lights tour runs through December. Those weekends fill first.
If you want a hiking day while you're here, the Friends Trail Loop in Beavers Bend State Park is a moderate mile and a half along the river, and it's the one we send people to who want a walk rather than an expedition.
